Claude Just Took Over Your Computer (This Is Real)

For years, "AI agent" mostly meant a tool that could talk about doing things. It would write you a beautiful plan and then hand the actual clicking back to you. That gap is where most of the hype went to die.

Anthropic just closed the gap.

It clicks, scrolls, and navigates for you

Computer use for Claude is live. It actually controls your Mac, clicking, scrolling, and navigating through apps while you're off doing something else, even on your phone. It's available now in Cowork and Claude Code for Pro and Max users. This is the part everyone meant when they said "AI agent" and rarely delivered.

The difference between describing the work and doing the work is everything. Claude just crossed that line.

The agent era doesn't start when AI can plan the task. It starts when AI can click the button.

Why this is the moment

A model that controls a real computer can do anything a person at that computer can do. That's not a small upgrade to a chatbot. It's a different relationship with your machine, where you hand off the doing instead of just the thinking.

It also means the boring multi-app workflows you've been suffering through are now things you can simply delegate. (Yes, even the soul-crushing one with eleven steps and three logins. Especially that one.)

If you're on Pro or Max, go give Claude one real on-screen task and watch it move your cursor. That's the moment it stops being theoretical.
