Claude Can Search the Web Now. Use It Right.

Claude's training data has a cutoff date. Anything after that, it doesn't know. Unless you let it look.

Web search is built right into Cowork. When Claude needs current info, it goes and finds it. Live pricing, recent news, new tool releases, updated documentation. The stuff that changes weekly. (Which, in AI, is everything.)

Here's the 30-second version:

It Knows When to Look

The key thing is Claude knows when to use it automatically. Ask about something recent and it searches before answering. But you can also tell it explicitly: "Search for the latest Claude pricing." "Find recent reviews of this tool."

It pulls real articles, real data, real sources. And it cites them, so you can check its work instead of taking a robot's word for it.

Why This Beats a Static Chatbot

This is what makes Claude more useful than a frozen knowledge base. It's not guessing about things that happened last week. It's actually going and looking.

An AI that says "let me check" beats an AI that confidently makes it up.

This is part 7 of the 20-part Cowork series. The full guide to all 20 concepts is right here.

Test it today. Ask Claude about something that happened this week and watch it pull sources instead of shrugging.
