My Morning Routine Is Now Automated With Claude Cowork

I used to start every morning the same dumb way. Open email. Open Slack. Open the calendar. Spend twenty minutes piecing together what the day actually looks like before I could do a single useful thing.

Not anymore. Now the day is summarized before I sit down.

The exact setup

I built a Claude Cowork scheduled task that runs every morning. It pulls from three places: my email, my Slack, and my calendar. Then it builds a briefing out of all of it.

By the time I'm at my desk, there's a single summary waiting. What's urgent, what's happening, what needs me. No tab-hopping. No assembling the picture by hand from three different inboxes.

The goal isn't reading more in the morning. It's reading one thing instead of three.

Why a briefing beats raw inboxes

Email, Slack, and calendar are three firehoses pointed at your face. Individually manageable. Together, first thing in the morning, they're a great way to feel busy without accomplishing anything.

A briefing flips the script. Instead of you doing the work of scanning, filtering, and connecting, Claude does it overnight and hands you the conclusion. (It's the difference between getting handed a map and getting handed a pile of street signs.)

The setup itself is the easy part. Scheduled task, point it at the three sources, tell it what a useful briefing looks like to you. Then it just runs, every day, forever, while you're still asleep.

Build your version this week. The first morning it greets you with a finished summary, you won't go back.
