Stop Waiting To Be An AI Expert

Stop Waiting To Be An AI Expert

People keep telling me they will start using AI seriously once they really understand it. Once they have read enough, watched enough, feel expert enough. (That day is not coming, by the way. There is no certificate.)

You are not behind because you do not know enough. You are behind because you are waiting.

Expertise comes from using it, not studying it

Nobody learned to drive by reading about cars. You learn AI the same way you learn anything useful: by doing the boring real task and watching where it breaks.

The people who look like experts are just the people who started six months earlier and kept going. They were not smarter. They were earlier. (That is the whole secret. Sorry it is not more impressive.)

You do not get good at AI and then use it. You use it badly, then less badly, then well. Skipping step one is why you are stuck.

Start with one real task

Pick something you already do every week and hand it to the AI. Email drafts, summaries, research, whatever. Do it wrong a few times. Fix it. That loop is the entire learning curve.

You will know more after one ugly afternoon of real use than after a month of watching tutorials. Stop waiting to feel ready. Go use it on something that matters today.
