Stop Getting Generic ChatGPT Emails (2-Line Fix)

Stop Getting Generic ChatGPT Emails (2-Line Fix)

You ask ChatGPT to write an email and it hands you something that opens with "I hope this message finds you well" and closes with "I look forward to your prompt response." (Nobody talks like this. Nobody.)

Generic in, generic out. Two lines fix it.

The two lines

Add these to your email prompt:

"Write the way I talk: direct, warm, no corporate filler. Open with the actual point, not a greeting."

That second line alone removes ninety percent of the cringe.

Why generic happens

ChatGPT defaults to the safest, blandest business voice because that voice offends no one. It is the beige paint of writing. Fine for a wall. Terrible for an email that needs a reply.

Specific beats polite. An email that sounds like a person gets answered. An email that sounds like a template gets archived.

Want it sharper? Feed it two or three of your own past emails and tell it to match your style. Now it writes like you instead of like a customer service bot having a good day.

Give it a voice and a starting point. Then stop sending emails that sound like everyone else's.
