Most people use ChatGPT Projects like a junk drawer. A place to shove related chats so they are not cluttering the sidebar. (Organized! Sort of.)

Projects carry context, not just chats

A folder holds files. A Project holds shared instructions and files that every chat inside it can see. That is a completely different thing.

Set the Project instructions once, drop in your reference docs, and every new chat in that Project already knows your voice, your rules, and your background material. You stop re-explaining yourself every single time.

A folder organizes. A Project remembers. Use the one that remembers.

What that looks like in practice

Say you run client work. Make a Project per client. Load their brand notes, their tone, their past deliverables. Now every chat in there writes like you already know the client, because the model does.

No more pasting the same context block at the top of every conversation like a ransom note. The Project carries it for you.

Stop using Projects as storage. Load the context and let it do the heavy lifting.
