Your Prompts Keep Failing Because You're Guessing

Your Prompts Keep Failing Because You're Guessing

You're not bad at prompting. You're copying tricks that don't fit your problem.

Everybody stacks the same hacks onto everything. Act as an expert. Take a deep breath. I'll tip you 20 bucks. Half of these do nothing. Some make it worse. (Yes, even the tip one.)

Here's what nobody tells you. A good prompt isn't a pile of tricks bolted together. It's one technique matched to how your model is actually failing. And different failures need completely different fixes.

Rambling output isn't a tone problem, it's a structure problem. Wrong format isn't a wording problem, it's an example problem. Hallucinations aren't a creativity problem, they're a grounding problem. You can add "be concise" to a prompt all day and it won't fix rambling if the real issue is that the model has no structure to organize its answer around.

Diagnose Before You Decorate

Most prompt engineering advice skips straight to the trick. Nobody stops to ask what's actually broken first.

That's backwards. You don't treat a broken leg and a headache with the same pill just because they both hurt.

The fix only works if it matches the failure, everything else is decoration.

So I built a skill that does the diagnosis first. You give it a plain-English goal, it figures out how the output is likely to fail, and then it writes the prompt structured around that specific failure. No trick-stacking, no guessing which of the twelve tips you read on a blog might apply this time.

It's free, grab it from the library link below.

Stop Guessing, Start Diagnosing

Next time a prompt gives you garbage, don't reach for another hack. Ask what kind of garbage it is first. Structure, examples, or grounding. Then fix that.
